Youssef Nabil is an Egyptian photographer who currently lives and practices in New York. He uses traditional Egyptian techniques for hand coloring his gelatin silver prints, techniques that were traditionally used to color studio portraits of famous Egyptian actresses in the 1950s and 60s. Few of these studios still exist today, and Nabil learned from some of the last living Egyptian re-touchers.

Nabil's work is present in some of the most significant national and international collections, including LACMA, Los Angeles; the Guggenheim Museum, Abu Dhabi; Pérez Art Museum, Miami; the North Carolina Museum of Art, Raleigh; La Maison Européenne de la Photographie, Paris; The Victoria and Albert Museum, London; and many others.
