In the series, New Wilderness, Jeff Whetstone explores the relationship between humans and their natural environments. He questions how this relationship has evolved, and what it means in our contemporary world.

Whetstone is currently the Head of Photography at Princeton University, and he has many ties to North Carolina. He has a Zoology degree from Duke University, and he was previously a Photography Professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. This photograph pictures the Eno River of Orange and Durham counties in North Carolina.
