Includes Nenokuchi Lake, Towada, dated Showa 8 (1933), signed "Hasui" with red artist's seal at lower right corner, Watanabe type C seal in lower left margin, offered loose (very good impression; significant fading to color), Mt. Fuji from Yuimachi, dated Showa 9 (1934), signed "Hasui" with red artist's seal at lower right corner, 6mm Watanabe seal in lower left corner of print, offered loose (toning to front and reverse; mat burn to margins and edges; some fading to color; some loss to margin on upper right side; mat still attached in upper right corner), and Nikko Gaido, dated Showa 5 (1930), signed "Hasui" with red artist's seal to lower right corner, 6mm Watanabe seal in lower left corner of print, offered loose (very good impression and color; some mat born to margins; some toning to image; v shaped loss to top margin; top and bottom right hand corners secured to cardboard).

Hasui Kawase was one of the leaders of the Shin hanga movement in Japan. He focused on making prints that illustrated the beauty of Japan's natural landscapes with special emphasis on seasonal color and light effects of sunrise, sunset, rain and snow. He received the high honor of being named "A Living National Treasure" in 1956 for his contributions to the arts.
