George Tice began documenting the Amish country in the 1960s for his book, Fields of Peace: A Pennsylvania German Album. The Museum of Modern Art was the first museum collection to acquire his work in 1959. The Detroit Institute of Arts and the Minneapolis Institute of Art both have copies of this same image in their collections.
