Includes Nissaka in Rain, dated Showa 17 (1942), signed "Hasui" with red artist's seal at lower left corner, 6mm Watanabe seal in lower left corner, offered loose (some very slight mat burn and toning; two top corners of print are secured to the mat), and Rain at Mirotsu, dated Showa 25 (1950), signed "Hasui" with red artist's seal at lower left corner, 6mm Watanabe seal in lower right corner, offered loose (good impression and color; some mat burn to edges of print; two pieces of tape remain on reverse at top), and a postcard size print titled Wakanoura, signed with artist's red seal in upper left corner (good estate condition).

Hasui Kawase was one of the leaders of the Shin hanga movement in Japan. He focused on making prints that illustrated the beauty of Japan's natural landscapes with special emphasis on seasonal color and light effects of sunrise, sunset, rain and snow. He received the high honor of being named "A Living National Treasure" in 1956 for his contributions to the arts.
