Includes Nissaka in Rain, dated Showa 17 (1942), signed "Hasui" with red artist's seal at lower left corner, 6mm Watanabe seal in lower left corner, offered loose (good impression; some fading to color; some toning to paper in margins), and Evening Rain in Kawarago, dated Showa 22 (1947), signed "Hasui" with red artist's seal at lower left corner, red circular publisher seal at lower left corner, offered loose (some discoloration from previous tape remains; some mat burn obvious in left margin; top two corners secured to mat).

Hasui Kawase was one of the leaders of the Shin hanga movement in Japan. He focused on making prints that illustrated the beauty of Japan's natural landscapes with special emphasis on seasonal color and light effects of sunrise, sunset, rain and snow. He received the high honor of being named "A Living National Treasure" in 1956 for his contributions to the arts.
