Sarah Pickering is a British visual artist working primarily in photography. She explores the concept of deception, examining the space that opens up between an event and that event's documentation. Her work often features a somewhat controlled chaos, staging explosions, fires, and gunshots as a way to consider the uncanniness and tension in the documentation of disasters.

Pickering has had solo exhibitions at both the Durham Art Gallery, Durham, England and the Museum of Contemporary Photography, Chicago. She has also received many accolades for her work, including the Jerwood Photography Award, London.
