Circa 1848, the six piece service including: a tea urn with mark of Taylor & Lawrie, retailer's mark of Bailey & Kitchen, the recto featuring a finely executed landscape with small thatched roof farmstead, the verso a similar landscape with sailboat and figure on calm pond in the foreground, with original heating cylinder (18.25 in.); a coffee pot with marks of Taylor & Lawrie and Bailey & Kitchen, featuring a landscape with huntsmen and hounds (13.5 in) (dent to waist near handle); a teapot with mark of Bailey & Co. and with pseudo hallmarks indicating "American Standard" silver, with same decoration as coffee pot (13 in.); a covered sugar bowl with mark of Bailey & Co. and pseudo hallmarks, the landscape with single huntsman (12.5 in.); a creamer with mark of Bailey & Co. and pseudo hallmarks, the landscape with two huntsmen and a hound (8 in.); and a waste bowl with Bailey & Co. mark and pseudo hallmarks, the landscape featuring two birds in flight. No monograms; each domed cover surmounted by a finely cast hound with single raised paw, ornately cast handles with foliate and floral motif, and each raised on a stepped foot with cast foliate motif and shell bracket feet.
