Attributed to Boston, circa 1800, mahogany, mahogany veneer, birdseye maple veneer, white pine secondary, high rectangular form with bowfront center section, top edge with five-line inlay, central upper drawer with bookmatched highly figured oval veneer, above two hinged cabinet doors with bookmatched highly figured veneer, flanked by two deep bottle drawers, each side with an upper convex small drawer above a hinged convex door, raised on six square tapered legs, stiles with birdseye maple inlay panel with light and dark wood sawtooth surround.

Sideboard accompanied by documents purporting that this sideboard was owned by Dr. E. Hitchcock and previously owned by Revolutionary War General Henry Knox.

Replaced pulls; veneer shrinkage to lower left and right cabinet doors; possible cut and veneer patch to upper left corners of lower central cabinet doors; escutcheon loss with cut and patch to lower left cabinet door; overall very good estate condition.
