Lot 379
1990 Laser Sailing Dinghy with Trailer
Lot Details & Additional Photographs
One-design class of small sailing dinghy built by Laser Performance, is cat rigged, with a single mainsail and is a simple, light and fast boat to sail. It is constructed of fiberglass. With two sails, daggerboard and rudder stored in a box mounted to the trailer. Some new rigging materials included. A galvanized trailer has been customized to accommodate the dinghy.

The Laser's simplicity makes it something like the platonic ideal of a sailboat, enabled by the postwar innovations of fiberglass (for its hull), aluminum (for its mast), and Dacron (for its sail). It is the sort of definitive and lasting design that comes around only rarely. The laser is raced worldwide from club levels to international and Olympic competitions.

For winning bidders in NC, license plate and titling of trailer will be obtained by Leland Little Auctions, provided all applicable fees and taxes are paid.
