(10) watercolors on paper, including works inscribed on the verso "Rye Beach 1873" (5 7/8 x 7 7/8 in.), "Scarboro 1875 Dr. & Mrs. Wilson (& Jamie)," "Rye Beach 1874," "Bethlehem 1876," "Bethlehem August 25th 1876 W.P.A.'s Tree," "Bethlehem 1876," "Scarboro 1875," "Rye Beach 1873," "Jamaica Plains Sept. 25th 1857" (9 x 11.5 in.), and one without inscription; and (35) graphite on paper sketches, dates range from 1854 to 1875, including a small sketch inscribed "U.S. Schooner 'Vigilant'" and dated "9th June '58" (3 3/8 x 5.75 in.), other sketches include the Notre-Dame Basilica of Montréal, a small sketch inscribed "Kaaterskill Clove" and monogrammed "ADS" (3.5 x 4.75 in.), several sketches of the landscape around Burlington, a sketch inscribed "Camp Sunshine / Frenchman's bay / July 29th / 1875" and "C.A.S. & F. H. S / Charles Eliot," and a sketch inscribed "Camp Sunshine / Calf Island 1875 Pres. Eliot's tent," and others.

Included with the lot are four Patent Stretcher Keys invented by Aaron Draper Shattuck, patented in 1883.

The Pres. Eliot referenced in several of the drawings is Charles William Eliot, a member of the prominent Eliot family of Boston and who served as Harvard's president from 1869 until 1909.

The U.S. Schooner Vigilant depicted in one sketch was the ship Draper sailed on to for a sketching trip to Monhegan Island in 1858.
