Meiji period (1868-1912), finely painted in gilt and colors against a cream white ground with a large red temple complex with seasonal trees and pairs of birds on one side of each and the reverse with sages or luohans receiving gifts, both with dragon handles flanking the body, raised on a coin motif reticulated base with border above having gold chrysanthemums, the imperial crest.
