Circa 1900, inscribed mark of F. Barbedienne Fondeur, cast bronze with fine details from the chainmail to the tacks of the horseshoes, signed in the casting "P. Dubois," and stamped Reduction Mécanique A Collas.

24.75 x 22 x 6.5 in.

Paul Dubois originally designed this equestrian bronze for placement before Reims Cathedral. Additional life-size castings are found at Saint-Augustin, Paris and Meridian Hill Park, Washington, D.C. Dubois' model was so well received that the F. Barbedienne foundry executed a solid sterling silver casting for the 1900 Paris Exposition.

Attractive deep brown patina; break and loss to the tips of the spurs.
