Meiji period (1868-1912), each urn is decorated in relief with shaped registers of bird and flowers against a diaper ground, urns are flanked with lion mask head handles, wide rims at top, cicada lappets around the foot, signed to underside with two Japanese characters.

Both urns with minor rim chips; both with slight pushes to foot edges; loss to lion head on one handle; some rubbing and wear to body.
