Attributed to New England, circa 1800, concave molded rail and stiles, shaped and pierced back splat with molded shoe, rush slip seats, molded seat rail, straight legs with molded front edge, stretcher base, down swept rear legs.

39.5 x 19 x 20 in.; Seat height 17.5 in.

Chair one: break, cut and replacement at top of splat at rail attachment; tight hairline crack at base of splat by shoe; rush seats are old but likely later and currently with breaks and loss; front right top of leg with shrinkage crack and separations. Chair two: hairline crack at horizontal center of crest rail; shrinkage crack at base of splat by shoe; rush seat with wear, breaks and losses; front right and left upper legs with tight hairline shrinkage cracks.
