Early 19th century, opaque watercolor heightened with gold on paper, the gentleman wears a golden and white turban, gold jewelry, white robes and jama, light pink slippers, he sits astride a cream horse with a black shield hanging from his shoulder, the horse wearing a vermillion red blanket and saddle with golden trappings, a sage green background with thin blue sky above, painting set into a red band border, inscription to reverse of painting, framed by Kulicke, New York.

Painting in overall good condition; wear with loss to pigments of red border frame, especially at corners; a small line of loss to black pigment at bottom of painting; left corner seems to have a rounded edge instead of straight; some small areas of darker pigments to painting.
