New England Chippendale Slant Front Tiger Maple Desk

Attributed to Rhode Island, circa 1780, white pine and chestnut secondary, dovetailed case, lipped hinged slant lid with breadboard ends and molded loper supports, interior with three over two over one small drawers to each side, for a total of twelve drawers, case with four long lipped graduated drawers, raised on original shaped dovetailed bracket feet with spur.

Old mellow surface.

Cut and patch at lock on lid; wear and staining to writing surface; interior two lower large drawers with later locks; three small drawers missing pulls; long drawers with replaced pulls; crack and loss to top lip of upper drawer; front right half inch footing cracked and re-glued.
