This portrait of the young Queen Victoria in many ways mirrors that of Agostino Aglio (Italian, 1777–1857), which was painted after the Queen's accession and is now part of the Parliamentary Art Collection, United Kingdom. Aglio's painting is also a full-length portrait in partial profile, depicting the Queen with similar stance and gestures, and there is a strong resemblance between the representation of facial features. This portrait may be a copy of Aglio's or perhaps another version by the artist.
