19th century, the porcelain jar is hand painted with a lively scene of Chinese boys playing and frolicking in an outdoor courtyard in vivid polychrome enamels, two iron red bats fly on the reverse, drilled and fitted as a lamp with single lightbulb, secured to a carved wooden base, no lampshade.
