Parcel gilt, the central band of decoration incorporates pairs of dancers in traditional dress within six individual panels, further decorated with foliate scrollwork, the underside with central medallion surrounded by flames and with inscription, raised on three bun feet made from silver rupees.

The form of this bowl is based on alms or begging bowls, thabeik, used by Burmese monks.
