Oil on canvas, signed "M Barascudts / 1914," depicting Prussian lancers overrunning the French army during the Franco-Prussian War of 1870-71. Presented in a period gilt and gesso frame. Given the date of the painting, the artist was perhaps swept away with patriotic fervor at the onset of "The Great War."
