Meiji period (1868-1912), hand painted in polychrome enamels with Japanese textile designs surrounding a central square register with a Genjimon character next to a box with arrows and a bow, the exterior of the bowl richly enameled in red with foo lions frolicking, underside with four characters.

H 3 5/8 in.; Diameter 9 7/8 in.
