Three registers near the top of the bell carry the following dedicatory text: "CHATEAU DE ST. JULLIN / PARRAINS: EUGENE ET ERNEST CHAPUIS / MARRAINES: EUGENENIE DULAC ET ALICE CHAPUIS / MR ET MME CHAPUIS 1894"; the open central area below has a cross on one side and an effigy of the Virgin holding the Christ Child on the other side; iron brackets affixed to the bell's hanging loops are still fitted to a large fragment of wooden beam.

The chateau, situated in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of France, dates from the 13th century. Partially destroyed during the French Revolution, it was rebuilt from 1836 by the Countess of Chaponay.

Somewhat mottled green patina with stains and touches of verdigris; iron elements with moderate rust; the beam fragment in poor condition.
