Two Nepalese Thangka Paintings of the Wheel of Life

Contemporary, ink, colors, and metallics on cloth, a vivid depiction of the Wheel of Life, a symbolic representation of samsara and the cycle of existence in Buddhism, the fearsome figure holding the wheel represents impermanence. The two paintings are similar in style but differ in color palette and deities represented, both have a dragon and Buddhist treasure border, the smaller painting has an inscription in red shaped reserve towards the bottom of the painting.


Framed dimensions 36 x 28 in.; Sight Seen 26 x 19 in.; Framed dimensions 27 x 23 in.; Sight seen 18 1/8 x 14 5/8 in.

Both in good estate condition; larger painting with some losses to paint and minor creases; both paintings not examined outside of the frame.
