Ivey Dowdy (1875-1964) Redhead Drake, Kitty Hawk, NC. All wood decoys from Dare County are extremely rare and this is a fine early example dating circa 1900. Joe Perry purchased Ivey Dowdy's gunning stand in the 1920s. This exact decoy is published on page 296 of Gunnin' Birds by Kroghie Andresen. It has a wonderful form.
