Graphite on paper, signed and dated 1949 lower left, matted behind glass in a carved gilt wood frame.

Sight size 22 1/4 x 14 3/4 in.; Frame dimensions 32 x 26 1/2 in.

Grigory studied with Aleksei Buchkuri, a pupil of the Russian master Ilya Repin (1844-1930), and began exhibiting his works in 1940, often painting portraits of WWII soldiers and officers. After the war, his subject matter included peaceful labor and other common scenes of the Russian daily life. His works can be found in the Kramskoi Art Museum in his hometown area of Voronezh, as well as many other international collections.
