George Elbert Burr was an artist known for his landscape etchings, drawings, and paintings of the desert and Rocky Mountains. He worked as an illustrator for Harpers, Cosmopolitan, and Frank Leslie's Weekly Newspaper, and this allowed him the flexibility to pursue his passion - recreating landscapes of the American West.
