Ellie Saunders (1884-1969), Poplar Branch, NC. Ellie was a market hunter but after the Migratory Waterfowl Treaty of 1918 ended that career, he became a guide at The Currituck Shooting Club. He maintained this job for many years. Ellie made this widgeon in the 1930s. This exact decoy is published on page 195 of Gunnin' Birds by Kroghie Andresen.
