Rufus Roberts (1897-1954), Churches Island, NC. Rufus was one of the more notable decoy makers from Churches Island. Rufus and his brother operated the Roberts Brothers Lodge, which burned in 1935. He made some incredibly well shaped redheads and blackheads which are very desirable to collectors. This is one of those examples.
