Ira Hudson (1873-1949), Chincoteague, Virginia. This large solid goose is a sculptural masterwork with a flowing fluted tail. His geese decoys often varied in form due to available wood. This is a large decoy. In 1927, he offered solid goose decoys to the market for $22.00 per dozen. This will be a treasured decoy in any Southern decoy collection.
