1945, unglazed fired white clay of a nude female on a rectangular plinth, signed to back edge of the plinth and dated.

9.25 x 10 x 5.25 in.

Esther Torosian Fuller was an accomplished Armenian-American painter, ceramic artist and patron of the arts. She studied at Mills College in Oakland, California where she was able to take art classes with Max Beckmann and other prominent modern artists.

Fuller was a member of the San Francisco Art Association, the San Francisco Women Artists and Mills College Ceramic Guild, she exhibited widely and with success and was the recipient of numerous medals, prizes and juried awards, including from the De Young Museum in San Francisco and New York's Metropolitan Museum.

Toning to white clay from natural exposure; possible small chips to hair; small scuffs to base; overall good age appropriate condition.
