George Waterfield (1885-1926), Knotts Island, NC. This is one of the finest carvings known by this maker. The form is pure sculpture. The ballast weight consists of two rows of three hand cut nails perfectly stacked. X-Ray confirms that the head is correct to the body. A truly incredible decoy which rode on the Currituck waters.
