In 1965, Bruce Davidson was asked to photograph Caernarfon Castle in Wales for a magazine. Inspired by Robert Frank's images of Welsh miners from the decade before, Davidson decided to make a detour during his trip to photograph the mining town of Cwmcarn, Wales. This photograph is one of a series from Davidson's time in Cwmcarn, where he aimed to capture what was beautiful and proud but also sad in this poverty-stricken community.

Overall very good estate condition; margins with slight rippling and few tiny corner creases.
