Meiji period (1868-1912), early 20th century, a pair of two bulbous vases with slender necks decorated medallions containing flora against a black enamel ground, border above and neck are decorated with more floral patterns and butterflies having lovely goldstone accents.

Chip to interior of metal rim; same vase has some cracking to cloisonne on side of body with loss; same vase bottom has been completely removed.
