Paint on pressboard and plywood, the first features a man driving a bus with a snake sharing the road (20 1/2 x 22 in.); the second is yellow bus (8 x 16 3/4 in.) both signed.

Private Collection, Boone, North Carolina

Mose Tolliver was born to sharecroppers near Montgomery, Alabama. After a severe injury in the late 1960s, he turned to painting as a means to combat boredom and pain. Tolliver's work has been exhibited in the Smithsonian American Art Museum, Washington, D.C., the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, American Folk Art Museum, New York, and the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts, Montgomery, Alabama.

Bus and snake painting has a small nick to the lower left corner.
