(breaks and cracks to lacquer on surface and edges of cover; breaks with loss to interior rim and corners of container), and a black ground box with raised red lacquer decoration of figures in temple setting on cover and floral blossoms to sides, underside with diamond pattern and large six character mark (1 3/4 x 3 7/8 x 5 3/4 in.) (wear, cracking and loss to lacquer; some warping).
