Consisting of (18) hand painted yellow and black tiles (marked Made in Italy), the tiles produced by and stamped "S. A. Ceramica Laziale / (ROMA) Monterotondo", set in a black painted metal stand, red over glaze signed "Capogrossi, Roma".

The Estate of Jack Wolf, New York, New York

Jack Wolf was a long-time New Yorker and patron of the arts. He had a career in advertising and public relations, and he was a publicist for Robert Indiana as well as various art galleries. Throughout his life, Mr. Wolf developed a strong collection of art, film memorabilia, stamps, and autographs.

Giuseppe was influential for the Italian modernist movement, especially from 1930-1950, eventually gaining a retrospective at the Peggy Guggenheim Collection in Venice.

The tiles are loose set in the painted metal stand; the metal stand with some paint chipping; one tile is tight fitting and sits slightly above the frame of the table; some tiles with small glaze chips to the edges; overall good condition.
