Engraving on laid paper, printed in 1691 Venice, with center crease as issued, from Ragioni di Copernico Sopra il Secondo moto della Terra che l'annuale Sotto l'Eclittica, in floating frame.

Sheet size 19 1/4 x 28 in.; Frame size 23 1/4 x 32 in.

Vicenzo Coronelli was a Franciscan friar, as well as a cartographer and cosmographer who lived and practiced during the age of Copernicus. He was known especially for making terrestrial and celestial globes, and he made several for Louis XIV.

Some scattered light foxing/few stains; soft creases and sheet waviness; 7/8 inch edge tear upper left corner; not examined out of frame.
