Blanton Saunders (1910-1982), Poplar Branch, North Carolina. Blanton was exposed to hunting and the outdoor life at an early age. His father was famed waterman, Ellie Saunders. Blanton formed and operated the H.B. Saunders Rod and Gun Club from 1938 to 1957. This decoy was made in the 1940s and was probably hunted there.
