Clay Tillet (1913-1992), Kitty Hawk, North Carolina. Clay made his first stand of decoys in 1929 at the ripe age of sixteen. This gave him the freedom to hunt when and where he wanted. He joined the Coast Guard in 1937 and retired from that service in 1957. He made this swan upon his retirement. This exact decoy is published on page 293 of Gunnin' Birds by Kroghie Andresen.
