Joe Hayman (1896-1974), Churches Island, North Carolina. Joe Hayman made this decoy for the Williams Lodge on Knotts Island. Elliott Williams opened Williams Lodge in 1918. The lodge had five blinds surrounded by a thick layer of milfoil vegetation which attracted puddle ducks such as widgeon, mallards, and gadwall. This decoy was important then and it is important now.
