The Pellitory Gunning Club was chartered in 1912 and was named for "the bush with thorns." Robert Henley was the caretaker of the club from 1912 to 1927. It is unsure who made this decoy, but legend has it that the club had to make a decision to purchase Lee Dudley decoys for $3.00 each or these at $1.50. The Club had wonderful taste in decoys.
