Model number 5085, designed by Albert Feinauer for Barbour Silver Company (Hartford, Connecticut), circa 1930, with divided interior, marked to underside, with Catalin handle to hinged cover.

3 1/2 x 10 x 3 1/2 in.

Albert Feinauer (1886-1955) was a German designer, jeweler and silversmith. He was affiliated with several Deutsche Werkbund designs, as well as the Bauhaus movement and design work for Georg Jensen. In 1925 he emigrated to the United States and was instrumental in bringing German avant-garde design to an American audience through his work with International Silver Company and Gorham.

Later gold paint to handle and cover; some wear to plating and light scratching.
