Alvirah Wright ( 872-1951), Old Trap, North Carolina. Alvirah Wright is widely regarded in the top five of the best decoy makers to ever come from North Carolina. He was a gifted boat builder and he carved his decoys like he built his boats with wide sterns and flowing lines. His decoys are sculptural masterworks and this is a fine example. It has fore and aft rigging and was from the hunting rig of Jimmie Rowe.
