Samuel Doug Jester (1876-1961), Chincoteague, Virginia. Doug Jester carved simple yet very effective decoys. They all seem to have nostril and mandible carving which give them a wonderfully folksy looks. Canvasbacks by him are rare. This particular decoy has resided in a few extremely important collections.
