Two Large Japanese Imari Chargers

Includes one charger with scalloped rim, decorated with two ladies in floral kimono holding onto a flower cart that is overflowing with chrysanthemums in iron red and gilt and dark cobalt blue leaves, decorative motif borders the rim, underside foot with three spur marks, and a larger charger with divided registers alternating with hand painted images of an elegant lady by a seaside and scenes of autumn flowers, deer, and moon, the scenes surround a central roundel of chrysanthemum blooms.

Smaller charger with red writing to surface and some scratches and loss to enamels on surface and rubbing and loss to gilt on rim; larger charger with some rubbing and loss to gilt on rim and light scratches, two kiln defects to underside foot.
