Edo period (1615-1868), porcelain hand painted with cobalt blue large peony blossom and pink and red playful shishi dogs, scalloped rim with gilt trim, underside with apocryphal Chenghua mark.

Diameter 8 3/8 in.

One plate with a rim chip and loss to shishi dog enamels; one plate with multiple rim chips; and one plate with chips and hairline cracks at rim; and one plate with chips and hairline cracks at rim and significant loss to shishi dog enamels; rubbing and loss to gilt on rims of all plates.
