Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, Jeanette Swing Lewis studied at the Pratt Institute in New York and the Cincinnati Art Academy. She worked as an artist at Rookwood Pottery between 1900 - 1904. She later taught in the Cincinnati schools and served as a domestic relations columnist for the Post.
