19th century, glazed ceramic tiles, the first an English tile of a Classical style female profile, marked to verso Minton, Hollins & Co. / Stoke-on-Trent (6 x 6 in.); the second a frame tile depicting a portrait of a noblemen, marked to verso "C. Pardee. / Wks P.A. N.J," for Calvin Pardee of Perth Amboy New Jersey (frame dimensions 6 3/4 x 6 3/4 in.); the third a profile of a child, marked to recto by Trent Tile Company of Trenton New Jersey (6 x 6 in.); the fourth of castle scene, marked to recto by Trent Tile Company of Trenton New Jersey (6 x 6 in.); the fifth of two puppies at play, marked to recto by the Providential Tile Works of Trenton N.J. (6 x 6 in.); the sixth of a standing Classical style child with dish, marked to recto by Beaver Falls Tile Company of Beaver Falls, Pennsylvania, faint signature to lower right recto (6 x 3 in.); the seventh tile depicting a bearded man in profile, appears unmarked. (6 x 6 in.).
