19th century, includes four plates of varying sizes, porcelain hand painted in the Imari palette of cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt with highlights of green on some, bands of textile patterns and ornate patterning radiate out from a central medallion with either floral or traditional Japanese motifs, underside edges of all painted with decoration, one with four character mark and one with iron red symbol to underside.

Largest diameter 13 1/2 in.

Rubbing with loss to gilt on rim of two plates; one plate with a hairline crack to underside; one plate with hairline crack to underside and rim chips; smallest plate with rim chips, repair to foot and some rubbing and loss to enamels.
